This image is an example of the physical interaction between the ER and Rickettsia; furthering our goals of better understanding the way Rickettsia alters host cell processes.  Depicted here is the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) is wrapping the Rickettsia bacteria. This is the first instance we've seen of an all-or-nothing phenotype in which cells infected with a certain genotype of Rickettsia either wrap every bacterium or none of them.
