"Cancer cells often demonstrate irregular receptor activities, which can lead to abnormal cellular behaviors. These receptors are therefore targets of anticancer drugs. The presence of specific receptor complexes may correlate with response or resistance to therapies.

This image represents the simultaneous detection of three receptor complexes (red, orange, and green) on individual breast cancer cells (blue) using a novel detection platform. Each colored spot indicates the presence of a distinct receptor complex. The use of this approach to measure multiple receptor complexes on human cancer specimens may allow scientists to better understand which patients are likely to respond to a particular therapy and help guide clinical treatment decisions."
