By visualizing the encapsulation of mRNA in microparticle, it’s easier to study and optimize the encapsulated efficiency and release kinetics of mRNA, which could be used for tracking the release profile of mRNA vaccine in microparticles.
We aim to use microparticles in different sizes to achieve the controlled release of mRNA vaccine.
We achieved monodisperse encapsulation of mRNA-lipid nanoparticles in microparticles, with patchy or homogenous patterns depending on the microparticle formulation. The visualization of fluorescent mRNA offers another approach to validating the mRNA encapsulation efficiency and the release kinetics in a more specific, timely manner.
