Human stem cell-derived brain organoids can recapitulate many features of the developing human brain, including polarized ventricular structures, as shown in this image. The green ventricular "islands" floating in the light blue "ocean" are equivalent to the developing human cortex.

I am devising new culturing strategies to improve the overall cytoarchitecture maturation of brain organoids. In this particular image, we can conclude that the organoids are growing very well, as many well-formed ventricular units are present there.
