In the Love Lab, we are developing a groundbreaking solution: a ready-to-use, pre-assembled SpyCatcher-I53-50 nanoparticle vaccine carrier, designed to display SpyTag-fused HIV Env trimers. By harnessing the power of Pichia pastoris, we are able to produce these nanoparticles in a secretory manner, eliminating the need for labor-intensive intracellular production, cell disruption, and complex purification processes. This streamlined approach is not only more manufacturing-friendly but also cost-effective—two critical factors in global vaccine deployment.
