The vast majority of ovarian cancer patients are diagnosed with late stage disease – tumors that have spread throughout the chest cavity and beyond. Here, we see an ovarian tumor that has invaded the abdominal wall (peritoneum), a common site of metastatic spread. The tissue section was stained with a molecule (white/brown) that binds to cells that are rapidly growing and dividing.
