In this image, the Tomato cancer cells (red) are seen awakened by chemotherapy-induced inflammation, while Ki67 (white) marks proliferating cells. Our goal is to understand the characteristics of dormant cancer cells and the mechanisms that enable their awakening. Gaining insight into this process could offer opportunities to prevent metastatic relapse years after the primary tumor has been treated.
