This Convallaria Majalis rhizome has been imaged using the You Lab's novel fluorescence lifetime imaging (FLIM) technique. Different colors represent the presence of different fluorophores or changes in the cellular environment. Lifetime based contrast provides more information than intensity based contrast, and is a promising technique for studying cancer, aging, and other important problems.
