Tumors are ‘tumors’ due to their ability to grow and grow at an uncontrolled rate. Here we see tumors originally from patients but now growing in the lab into large orbs.

These will be used to test new drugs against and try to identify a way to treat these tumors in the clinic. 

 My research aims to develop an organ-on-a-chip microfluidic platform that models the blood-brain-barrier (i.e. the blood vessels of the brain) in the presence of a childhood brain tumor to use to screen various new drug formulations on.
