This is a multiplex immunofluorescent imaging of the tumor microenvironment in the lung in an autochthonous mouse model of human non-small cell lung cancer.
Green: Tumor cells (they carry mutations in Kras and p53, which the most common mutations in human lung cancer)
Yellow, red, white, blue and pink: various types of immune cells including macrophages, neutrophils, dendritic cells and T cells which closely interact with the tumor.
We can also see distinct anatomical structures in this image including blood vessels, alveoli and the airway.
We took this image to interrogate immune-tumor interactions in the lung microenvironment. We try to understand how immune cells control tumor growth.
