This image shows how an implant of a biomaterial (on the right side of the image) seeded with vascular cells interacts with immune system (red dots) to work together to generate new blood vessels (yellow or green) in order to fix and splice the damaged vascular area in a living donor of liver (on the left side of the image). The image is part of a project focused to develop implants for cell therapy able to improve liver regeneration and function after liver transplantation in donor and receptors.
