This image shows a flattened adult ovary of a fruit fly, consisting of germ cells at different stages of development. It looks like an assembly chain of a factory. The induvial compartments are called egg chambers, and different sizes indicate different development stages. The biggest compartments are developed eggs.
I took those images to compare female germline development in different genotypes, especially focusing on if the mutation of certain genes would impact this process.
