This image shows an ovary in a female fruit fly (Drosophila) larva. Ovary is an organ that produces oocytes, which can be fertilized by a sperm and eventually give birth to offspring. The ovary in the image (the oval subject in the center) is surrounded by fat tissues, which looks like an egg in a bird nest, could meaning “nursing future newborns”.

I took those images to compare female germline development in different genotypes, especially focusing on if the mutation of certain genes would impact this process.
