Niche Cells: Stromal Cells Support Intestinal Regeneration

Regeneration of intestinal epithelial cells requires their surrounding niche cells in the stroma. This image visualizes two important stromal niche cells that produce R-spondin3 (RSPO3). These cells are lymphatic endothelial cells and RSPO3+GREM1+ fibroblasts. These cells expand and produce more RSPO3 to support post-injury regeneration of the intestine.
