Listening in on Neurons 3

This small device, micro-drive, carrying multiple tiny electrodes enables us to record the activity of the hundreds of neurons in freely behaving animal’s brain. With this technology, we can “listen” the dialogues of neurons across multiple brain regions and investigate the function of brain.

With applications of this technology of the image, I aim to decipher neural codes in the brain and understand the molecular and neural circuit basis of memory consolidation and its neural representations during specific behavioral states: wakefulness, NREM and REM sleep.
