We are developing implantable chips that can carry engineered organoids and allow them to survive inside the human body. Shown in this example, we have been able to differentiate stem cells into neurons within our devices. The neurons spontaneously form a dense mesh-like structure inside the device like those seen in brain tissues. These devices demonstrate the potential to use implantable devices for the treatment and study of neurological conditions and psychiatric diseases. We took this image to monitor our ability to grow and different stem cells into neurons while in our devices. We also wanted to demonstrate cell viability over time.
