Resistance is Fertile 3: Studying the Effect of Aag in Neurons

The Samson laboratory studies how response to DNA damage is dependent on cell type. We’re interested in two cell types in particular: mouse embryonic stem (ES) cells and mature mouse neurons. In order to study cell type-specific variations in DNA damage response, mouse ES cells are differentiated in vitro into neurons. Experiments are performed throughout the differentiation process to characterize their responses to DNA damage and determine why particular cells have such diverse responses to the treatment conditions. This image was taken to determine the efficiency of the neuronal in vitro differentiation process.
