The image on the left shows methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infecting cells within rat fetal lung tissue, while the image on the right shows bacterial pathogen group B Streptococcusinteracting with a host white blood cell. We took these images to identify the host cellular targets of these human pathogens. Broadly, we are trying to understand the mechanisms of pathogenesis associated with these organisms.
