"This image depict the nerve fibers, or the wiring of the human brain; brain cells communicate with each other through these fibers. We can measure these fibers in each individual using a specialized MRI scan. The colors represent the direction of the fibers--blue is for fibers travelling up/down, green for front/back, red for left/right. I’m interested in how the connectivity of the brain determines the specific neural function of each brain region. I normally treat the data more quantitatively but I render the data like this to check for data quality and observe the tracts myself."
