"Human tissues are composed of many cell types that are intricately organized on the micro-scale. Such organized "architecture" is known to dictate organ function. We are working to develop engineering technologies that allow us to precisely organize multiple cell types within engineered tissues so that we can 1) study how such organization alters tissue function, and 2) develop improved engineered tissues for translational human therapy.
