"We devised a facile and generalizable strategy to robustly augment existing cell therapies, such as infusions of tumor-reactive or bone marrow transplantation. By chemically conjugating submicron-sized drug/growth factor-loaded synthetic particles directly onto the plasma membrane of donor cells prior to infusion into the patient, therapeutic cells are “armed” with a continuous source of stimulants which greatly enhances their survival, proliferation and therapeutic functionality."
